In relationships we often look for immediate gratification. We woo our mates to become closer to us, sometimes leading them to expect a world we can not deliver. There is almost a pact at the beginning of the relationship to let as little be known as possible between the two involved, and to take the little that is given, as if it is everything that is to come. I wonder what would happen if when we met someone we were interested in and just showed them what’s underneath the sand on our own beaches. After all, it is inevitable that a wave in life with the right momentum and weight come eventually, and expose what is hidden beneath the sandy hills we use to cover what we think we have buried. On the right day, the right people will treat one another like the ocean does the beach, and form a mutual relationship of give and take, exposing each other in the process, and come to realize that if we were all as honest as the ocean was to the sand, life would be like a beach instead of a sandy hill.
