Every so often, life gets to a place where it seems as if everything is perfect. Your with the right person, your in the right house, you have the right job, your loved in the right way, and you feel like you can count on those things to stay that way, if you just keep doing what it is you did to get them there in the first place. Then, without warning, and without any preemptive action on your part, suddenly, everything you once viewed as a stable part of your life, is the very cause of its instability. The person you thought was loyal, has turned out to be dishonest, the house has cracks and leaks, your co-workers annoy you, and you are left feeling empty, and alone. Life has this funny way of ensuring we do not get attached to anything other than our ability to procure our own happiness. We are able to provide our own template for joy, which others can fit into, but ultimately, we must be able to fill those places with our own sense of love, kindness, and caring, to bring happiness with us wherever we choose to be. When the time comes to shed the old for the new, let the storm wash away old habits, old thoughts, old ways, and rinse you clean of what is keeping you from realizing that happiness is something you are, not a place you are entitled to go; and when the Sun rises again, you’ll understand why it must come and go, much like the storms it can sometimes bring.
